Saturday 14th February 2009 ~ Valentines Day

When the troops arrived: Groombridge Scouts

                                         Rotherfield Scouts

                                         Ticehurst Scouts

When all the troops arrived we went straight to our camping site which was a massive wood (owned by Darwin and Greys Company). We all got set up by choosing our camp site, getting in groups of 3/4 and making our shelters which had to be off the ground. Afterwards

we  tried to make our fires using

matches, firelighters and cotton

wool and it did work. Then we

started to make our dinner which

was jacket potato and fish

(salmon). All the groups were able

to make it so nobody starved or

got salmonella.  When everybody had then chucked there litter on the fire (as burnable (don't worry) we all played a wide game. It was great fun! What the games was about was there were the scouts hiding and the leaders had to chase us to this larry tree and if the scouts reached that tree they had won, After a few games of that the leaders hide and the scouts went after then but they were rubbish as they were very tall (apart from Sharon) still easy to find though! I have to admit leaders THE SCOUTS WERE SO MUCH BETTER!

Sunday 15th February 2009 ~ Last Day

When all the troop woke up we all headed to the smell of the leaders cooking there breakfast but sadly we had a long wait  as we had to cook our own. We had sausage, bacon, egg and beans and for a second helping my mum made doe-twists with everybody. Then we got

teached by Colin how go use

an saw and axe carefully and all

the safety rules. When we has

 Also chucked the remains of

that onto the fire we had to

dismantle our beloved shelters.

A few hours later we all took

our bags to the top and went

on a walk to a deserted old railway track and a bridge where there was a river running through (quiet deep). We were there for ages but when it was time to go everybody was soaking wet and most of there parents said “you are not getting in my car like that!”

Then everybody went home and probably had a nice hot shower!

WHAT A GREAT SURVIVAL CAMP FOR 2009!
