Dover castle

Fraser: The best part of the Dover trip was in the great tower. The kitchens at the bottom, with all the medieval food was exciting. The model food was interesting. The top of the great tower had a nice view of Dover and France.

Sophie: I think for me the best part of the Dover Castle trip was the war exhibition because we have been learning about the war in history and English. Also on the scout summer camp to Switzerland we stayed at Boulogne  which is shown in the sign post picture and in December I am going to Ypres with the school which is also shown on the sign post so that is why I thought this sign post was great.  While we were camping in Boulogne we visited a war cemetery and dover castle gave me more information about the war cemetery, it also gave me more information about the school trip to ypres because we are going to be learning about life in the trenches while we are there.

Hannah: As it was Remembrance weekend we decided to visit Dover Castle and the secret war tunnels. We had a great time and learnt a lot about the history of the Castle and what it would have been like to work in the tunnels during World War II. The best part for me was to see one of our cubs called Miles invested on the top of the highest tower at the castle in front of many tourists including some scouts from Belgium. I think this must have been a special moment for Miles and one he won’t forget.

Callum: My Favourite part about going to dover castle was the gruesome trap system. if an army was trying to invade no one would come out alive! they were lead down corridors where they would be shot at with arrows, stabbed and drowned in tar! I recommend it to anyone.

Jake: The best bit about Dover Castle was when Fraser and I found out that you could move the cannons!
